In this week, one by one EP move to their hostfam, Organizing Commitee of Explore China Project told me my hostfam broke their promise, so I don't have hostfam until project end :(

GZ (3) : 1st week : Hi Guangzhou, China

2nd July - 8th July 2012

its time to woorrrrrk, but before we going, we must go first to Kecun station until Yantang station by subway or metro, in first day we just play game with them

I work in that place with another EP from another countries, I'm happy can meet with them :)

Finally in the 4th days in Guangzhou, I meet with buddies, their name is Jane and Susie, Jane and her friend (Michelle) come to our trainee house, and then we go to Sun Yat Sen University after that we go to Pearl Rivel by ship

in the 5th days, me and Perishte, sharing about our culture, in that class there are just 3 childern, and Tina (Elsa's buddy) accompany us, after we sharing, Raista come to the class, we teach them mathemathic, and we're sing a song together with them, we're sing Gundul-Gundul Pacul and Suwe Ora Jamu, traditional song from Indonesia

In the afternoon, I wanna go to mosque for friday pray, Raista, Elsa, and Tina accompany me to go there, the place closer with Indonesian Consulate General . After that, we go to consulate general, I wanna give my application from culture ministry Indonesia for accountability report (LPJ). We are meet with Mr. Hidayat and Mr. Bayu. They are told us tomorrow there are kids day in Consulate General. The address of Indonesian Consulate General is 27/F Dong Fang Hotel 120 Liu Hua Road, 510016, Guangzhou, China.

On the weekend, me and another EP go to Guangzhou Zoo. In this place we wanna see pandaaaaaaaa. And we have 4 new EPs join with us :D

GZ (2) : from Malang to Guangzhou

Before I went to Guangzhou, I have a lot of problem in Indonesia, u know really hard to get full sponsorship ? (u can check the last post, before this post). I booking ticket and make a visa 2 entry in a travel agent in Malang. Three weeks again they give me info they can't help me to make a visa. Ok, I move to another travel agent, the result same, they can't help me to make 2 entry visa. Ok fine, I just have 10 days before I go to China, and I don't visa, crazy thing !!! Ok, I move again to another travel again to make 1 entry visa, so I can't go to Hongkong :'(. Because if u wanna go to Hongkong its just 2 hours from Guangzhou by train.

Another problem, Elsa and Fitria (my team from International Relations UNIBRAW) tell me, we must delay our plane until tomorrow, because there are no flight on June 30^th 2012, and u know what ? my travel agent not give me info about the flight ticket, errrrrr.
So I go to Guangzhou from Surabaya on July 1^st 2012. I go to Juanda airport with my family.

Me, Elsa, and Fitria late to check in because me and Elsa waiting for Fitria ._. so we got chair in behind. I go to Guangzhou with Jetstar, u know the plane like a bus ._.

Then we transit at Changi Airport, Singapore, the best airport in the world, we just have 1 hour to transit. The airport really big, we looking for C16 for change our plane, that place really far, so we must run. Finally we are on C16, but the employee reject us, we must back to transit C first, OMG, so must run again because we just have half our. Back to C16, 5 minutes later, the plane take off, we are so lucky.
In the plane, I meet with Doan Manh Tuan, his nickname is Alex. He is from Vietnam, but he study at NUS (National University Singapore). He wanna go to Guangzhou for student exchange at Sun Yat Sen University, Guangzhou, China until July 23rd 2012. Ok, same with us but we're in there for 6 weeks. He is really friendly, he tell me about Vietnam history and I must explain Indonesia history.

Finally, me, Elsa, Fitria, Alex arrived at Guangzhou airport. In there we meet with Raista and Emil, they are another EP from Indonesia too. Teresa and Ven, they are Raista and Emil's buddy pick us to trainee house.

In trainee house we meet with 3 male from Europe, they are Shafa - Norway, Joep - Netherland, Zoli - Hungary and 1 female from Egypt, her name is Dalia.

Ok, let's go sleep, because we're really tired, and tomorrow we must run the project.

GZ (1) : interview until got full sponsorship

September 2011 :

There are open recruitment member AIESEC LC UNIBRAW (my university), but I'm not interested with that oprec, because I really want go exchange (again), and my friend told me, "u can exchange with AIESEC", so I search info about exchange AIESEC, I come to the LC for ask the exchange, people in AIESEC really friendly, they told me all the procedure, requirement, and advice for me. Ok, I take the exchange form.

They give me one week for fulfill the exchange form and complete the another application (CV, Permit Letter, Motivation Letter). After that I interview with Ms. Manda and Mr. Ira, the question same with the question at exchange form, but I really nervous, I don’t about my answer. I hope I get the best for the result. One week again they give me info, I accepted for the interview, I really happy to hear that. After that I tell my parent I accepted for go exchange from AIESEC LC UNIBRAW. My parents (P) ask me (M) :

P : The exchange is that free ?

M : No, its not free, we must pay for all

P : When u wanna go ?

M : This summer, july until august

P : How much the cost ?

M : My plan I wanna go to China, so the cost around of 13 million rupiah.

P : Ok, lets see next year

December 2011 :

        My VP OGX GCDP (Ms. Ovy) ask me, “You wanna go exchange this winter,because in this winter there are a lot of nice project ?” my answer, “No, I don’t have money now, I wanna looking sponsorship first and I wanna go exchange for summer”

March 2012 :

I pay the free exchange (1,5 million rupiah) for searching project. After that, I sent my CV to China (Beijing, Guangzhou, Shanghai), Turkey, Korea.

April 2012 :

China accepted my CV, I make appointment with them for interview, Turkey just give me form (I don’t know for what, and then they not give me the answer again), and there are no answer from Korea.

Firstly, I interview with AIESEC Beijing (by skype), I answered all the question, but in the last question :

She : Can u play instrument music ?

Me : No, I can’t, but I can sing

She : I’m sorry I reject u, because I searching EP for play instrument music

Me : :’(

Secondly, I interview with AIESEC SYSU (Sun Yat Sen University) Guangzhou, I make appointment with Shining, OCP of EXPLORE CHINA Project, several hour before interview, she tell me, she can’t interview me because she really busy, so I interview with Arron. He give me just 4 questions :

Whats your name and tell me about your personality ?

What did u know about China ?

Why u choose China and choose this project ?

Do you have problem until now ?

Two days again, Shining sent me the accepted letter, I shock with that info “Are u sure ? I’m not believe it”

In the last, I interview with AIESEC Shanghai, they give me a lot of questions, in the last I told them, “I was accepted in AIESEC SYSU Guangzhou, so what can I do ?” and then they answer “if u was accepted in another LC, u can’t join with our project” “ok ._.”

After that I pay 1 million rupiah for match with the project, buy flight ticket, and make a visa (I pay with my parent money)  

May 2012 :

I make 6 proposal sponsorship, for Rectorat, FISIP (Faculty of Social and Politic Science), Government of Malang, TELKOMSEL, DIKTI, and Tourism Ministry Jakarta.

My proposal detained in rectorat until 2 weeks, because the Vice Rector 3 have family event and then people in rectorat tell me, “we can’t help you for fresh money, because they are a lot of people go exchange from AIESEC, but we’ll give u the signature of Vice Rector 3 and success for your sponsorphip”

Before I went to Rectorat, I was gave my proposal to FISIP, they will give 500.000 rupiah for fresh money, ok thank you.

Then, I go to government of malang, they tell me “we don’t have money now, u can try again next year” “OMG, really hard to get sponsorship :’(“

Suddenly my dad call me “when u wanna go to Jakarta for searching sponsorship ?”

Me : I don’t know maybe after I go to TELKOMSEL Malang first

Dad : It’s not important, change your proposal for Biro PKLN Jakarta

Me : Ok dad, tomorrow I’ll go to Jakarta

 May 30^th 2012

2.30 pm I go to station with my friend (Elsa), because there are no public transportation (and I don’t have motorcycle) for go to station. In the station, there are no ticket for now until 2 days again, OMG :’(. Then I call my dad, he told me to go to bus station, I go there by public transportation. In public transportation there are a cruel people, he wanna steal my cellphone, but I’m lucky, I’m safe from him, thanks GOD :)

In the bus station, there are no bus to go to Jakarta, I call my dad again. He told me, I must back to Semarang (my hometown) first and then in the morning can go to Jakarta by train.

May 31^st 2012

Just in the train until evening ._. After I arrieved in Jakarta, my brother pick me up and then he invite to hangout in Jakarta.

June 1^st 2012

1^st destination is DIKTI (Education Ministry), they accepted my proposal and 3 days again I must call them for follow up

2^nd destination is BIRO PKLN, they tell me, u just send your application via email

3^rd destination is Tourism Ministry Jakarta, in the lobby they reject my proposal because there are something wrong in my cover proposal. Ok, I must change my cover proposal, after I change my cover proposal, I go to lobby again and then I go to marketing room. In marketing I meet with a employee (I don’t know him) he ask me about my proposal, and 3 days again I must call them for follow up.

June 2012

DIKTI : I follow up them every 3 days, but in the middle month, they reject my proposal, I know why, they not give me the rational reason.

Biro PKLN : in the middle month, they give me info I’ll get 3 million fresh money, but in last July. In the fact, they give me the fresh money 2 weeks after my internship in Guangzhou, China ._.

Tourism Ministry :

3 days after I give my proposal, they tell me wait for the authorizhing signature (disposisi) from Directorat General. After got the disposisi  I meet with Mr. Herbert by phone. He told me, “I’ll learn your proposal first, you can call me one week again”

After one week I call him again, he ask me about the feedback and how much money do you need ? my answer “I wanna make a promotion during my internship in Guangzhou with your video, and I also wanna make t-shirt, banner, sticker, pin, and bring several stuff about Indonesia and I need accommodation around of 11 million” (I really stupid, why I’m not request full sponsorship ._.)

3 days again Mr. Herbert call me ask about my living cost during in China, because I just wrote around of 4 million rupiah for eat (45 days), apartement, and pocketmoney. Mr. Herbert not believe with my estimation living cost, because he was went to China and living cost in there not cheap. Errrr, I really stupid ._. So my answer :
 

1. July-August is ramadhan month so I will fasting in there, so 1,3 million rupiah its enough for me
2. 1,5 million rupiah for apartement, because in there I wanna life with another EP from another country, so the price of apartement is cheap
3. About pocketmoney I wanna use for buy credit for cellphone (pulsa) and another thing during my internship in China 

H-7 there are no info about my sponsorship, I call Mr. Herbert again, he told me, he wanna give info A.S.A.P

H-3 I call Mr. Herbert about my sponsorship, I tell him “please give me certainly info, because I can’t make visualization of media publication” then Mr. Herbert tell me “U make visualization of media publication first with your money, we will help u”

In the night I make all visualization of publication in the printing office. Next day I sent the picture of real media publication to Mr. Herbert via email.

H-1 in the morning I check ATM, there are no money, in the afternoon, there are no money again, at 2pm I call Mr. Herbert, he tell me my proposal with his friend, so he don’t know the nominal and he request for send scan of flight ticket with the real price.

Ok, I send my flight ticket and my proposal, in the email, I tell me about my proposal, then he answer my email and give me some application, I must fulfill the application during my internship in China.

4pm I check ATM, there are 13 million rupiah in my atm card, thanks GOD and thanks to Mr. Herbert for help me. Then I change all my parent money and I go to Guangzhou for free + my parent give me 3 million rupiah for pocketmoney :D

Superhero

Jika kita melihat film superhero, ada beberapa superhero yang sangat terkenal di dunia, contohnya adalah batman, spiderman, dan superman. Ketiganya mempunyai karakter dan kekuatan yang berbeda-beda, namun mereka mempunyai satu tujuan yaitu menyelamatkan dunia dari kejahatan. Disini saya akan merumpamakan guru sebagai seorang superhero, dia adalah seorang superhero yang tanpa batasan waktu memberikan ilmunya kepada murid-muridnya demi satu tujuan yaitu memberantas kebodohan. Disinilah fungsinya sebagai guru, beliau tanpa lelah memberikan waktunya demi mencerdaskan bangsa Indonesia. Seperti Hari Pahlawan yang kita peringati sebagai hari Pahlawan sekaligus tanggal cantik di abad ini yaitu 10.11.12, di hari Pahlawan ini para gurulah yang pantas mendapatkan penghargaan tertinggi, tanpa adanya mereka tidak akan ada presiden, menteri, atau petinggi-petinggi lainnya.

Pada awalnya kita dilahirkan dengan kondisi yang sama, tidak punya kemampuan apa-apa. Tetapi dengan kita belajar di bangku sekolah dasar hingga perguruan tinggi, kita dapat meraih apa yang kita impikan, tentunya impian tersebut tidak kita dapatkan secara tiba-tiba namun di dalamnya ada sebuah proses dan orang yang berjuang dalam proses tersebut hingga titik tertinggi yang telah ditentukan oleh masing-masing individu, itulah yang dapat disebut orang sukses. Di dalam proses tersebut kita tidak berdiri sendiri pasti ada orang dibalik layar. Orang dibalik layar adalah seseorang yang telah memberikan ilmu yang kita sebut dengan guru, peran guru tidak hanya kita dapatkan di bangku sekolah ataupun perkuliahan, namun sosok guru juga bisa dapatkan dari sifat orang tua kita dan juga sahabat-sahabat yang terlebih dulu sukses dari kita, dari mereka kita bisa belajar bagaimana cara menggapai kesuksesan dan sekaligus cambuk buat kita untuk mengikuti jejak sukses mereka. Namun seringkali orang berpikir, mengapa kita bersusah-susah belajar ilmu di segala bidang dan pada akhirnya di dunia perkuliahan kita akan memilih jurusan yang kita inginkan, namun bila kita pintar memaknai segala hal, pasti segala ilmu yang kita dapatkan akan dapat kita gunakan pada saat yang tepat.

Di zaman sekarang, orang yang bermimpi sebagai seorang guru jumlahnya semakin sedikit. Ada banyak alasan yang mereka lontarkan salah satunya adalah gaji yang kecil yang di dapatkan oleh seorang guru. Namun apabila mereka pintar memposisikan diri sebagai guru, mereka akan mendapatkan kepuasan batin, mengapa demikian ? Coba kita posisikan diri kita menjadi seorang guru, kita mati-matian memberikan ilmu kepada murid-murid, dan ketika mereka sukses, mereka kembali kepada kita sambil mengucapkan “terima kasih atas segala ilmu yang telah diberikan”, itu yang dapat membuat kita terharu, dan pastinya kita telah merasa sukses dalam membimbing kita. Karena menurut saya, uang dapat kita cari namun kepuasan batin tidak dapat kita dapatkan dengan cuma-cuma.

Seringkali orang menganggap kuliah di luar negeri adalah salah satu pintu gerbang untuk mencapai kesuksesan dan kebanyakan dari mereka memakai biaya pribadi. Ada 2 alasan mereka melakukan hal tersebut, yang pertama adalah prestige, dengan belajar di luar negeri kita akan di anggap seseorang yang keren, yang kedua adalah ketidakpercayaan dengan pendidikan Indonesia untuk menggiring kita ke masa depan yang cerah. Kedua pandangan ini seharusnya dapat dihapuskan, dan ini merupakan PR kita dalam membenahi pendidikan di Indonesia, bagaimana cara kita mengembalikan kepercayaan bangsa Indonesia untuk belajar di negaranya sendiri dan bagaimana cara kita mengubah mindset mereka, bahwa belajar di Indonesia juga dapat mengantar kita pada puncak mimpi yang sudah kita buat sendiri, sehingga kita membutuhkan sesosok superhero yang dengan kerelaannya membagi ilmu mereka untuk mewujudkan mimpi mereka, superhero itu adalah guru.
